Highlights
Join our Reserve Officers for an evening at the Badger Hide in Egleton. Situated close to a resident sett, the hide offers fantastic views as the badger family ventures out for their nightly forage.
The Experience
The session begins around dusk and lasts approximately two hours. While badgers are the primary focus, the area is home to many nocturnal species.
Potential Sightings: Badgers, Tawny Owls, Barn Owls, Bats, Foxes, and Muntjac Deer.
Guidance: Expert Reserve Officers will be on hand to lead the session.
Important Information
Preparation: Please arrive 10–15 minutes early. It is recommended to bring a torch and wear warm, suitable clothing as temperatures drop after dark.
Photography: Cameras are welcome, but flash photography is strictly prohibited.
Accessibility: Access to the hide involves a steep climb of approximately five to six steps.
Children: The event is open to all ages, but children must be able to remain seated and quiet for the duration of the watch.
Sightings & Timing: We cannot guarantee sightings. The session may finish early if badgers appear quickly, or overrun if they emerge later in the evening.
