Christopher Payne, the well-known furniture expert from the Antiques Roadshow will talk about:
‘Furnishing the East Midlands from the Spectacular to the Vernacular’
Christopher was a director at Sotheby’s as well as spending 30 years as an expert on furniture and sculpture on the Antiques Roadshow. He will focus his talk on existing and lost houses of the East Midlands and the accumulation and dispersal of their treasures.
This event is organised by The Friends of Rutland County Museum and Oakham Castle. It aims to help raise match funding for the recent Heritage Lottery Fund bid. This includes refurbishing the museum and enabling the display of the ichthyosaur (‘Sea Dragon’) and items from the recently discovered Roman villa near Ketton.

Doors open at 6.30pm for a free glass of wine for ticketholders and a look at the current exhibition. The talk starts at 7.30pm
